What if I have not been riding very long?
Livermore HOG is a place to make friends and meet people. It can
help you find new friends to ride with. We ask that you feel
confident with your bike before attempting a group ride. However
come to a meeting, you will probably find someone to ride with
tomorrow.

Are there women in the group or it all men?
Our membership is at least 30 - 40% women. We have women who
ride their own bikes, women who ride as passengers, women who
serve as Chapter Officers, Board Members and Road Captains.
Most rides include 30% women. In fact, in 2004 and 2005 women
won the group patch for top rider (Most rides with the group).

My wife (girlfriend) does not enjoy riding will she enjoy the group?
The group is a social group as well as a riding group. There are
many group activities, dinners and gatherings which do not require
riding.
We have also found that many wives and girlfriends, after meeting
other wives and girlfriends at meetings, learning about our safety
standards, and going on an orientation ride, have become avid
riders / passengers. Read a reluctant wife's tale.

Livermore HOG is lucky to have a group of very dedicated road
captains made up of men & women that over the last few years have
led more than 90 rides per year.

How safe is riding with the group?
Safety is a primary concern among our members. For more
information check out our Safety page here.
Our Road Captains go through a rigorous orientation program that
includes classroom, reading, and riding reviews. They are also all
certified in First Aid

Can I join a ride without joining the Chapter?
Livermore HOG rides are designed for members and their guests,
but we do encourage people interested in joining the group to join us
for a ride or two. Just to show up at the dealership at the ride time
and introduce yourself to the lead Road Captain.
You will be asked to sign a waiver before riding with the group. We
expect all riders to have a valid motorcycle license and insurance.
You are welcome to join any ride, but we encourage you to join us
for our Orientation Ride. We meet at the dealership at 10:00 am the
last Sunday of the month February through November.
This ride is designed for new members to practice riding with the
group and learn how the group rides. It is also a ride where current
members practice their riding skills and come to meet new members
